Basic Health Education

KYO currently has two health projects running:

Adolescent Reproductive Health Network

Fifteen ethnic organisations combine to promote reproductive health and provide basic family planning services to young people from Burma living in Thailand and in Burma. KYO gives training to Karen communities inside Karen State and in the refugee camps in Thailand about these issues.

HIV Awareness Campaign

KYO educates young people inside Karen State about HIV/AIDS issues. HIV/AIDS is a growing problem inside Burma but there is a lack of awareness about the disease and a lack of treatment for HIV/AIDS patients. Since 2006 KYO have conducted 59 HIV/AIDS workshops in Karen State, educating thousands of young people about the disease.
